Slow. Down.

I’ve had to learn that. A notion we all know of. A warning we often don’t take heed of. We’ve seen how MC had her breakdown. Surely we should take note.

Well, I have had a not-so-gentle reminder recently. Life has gotten hectic on all fronts the past few months – from work (and I love what I do!) to church to having a social life to home life and finally to getting on with personal matters. Life’s been on fast forward and I felt like I was chasing after time. But there always comes that point where life reminds you just how mortal you are. When life tells you to calm down and take it easy. When you are warned to start taking care of you lest you crumble into a limp version of yourself.

I doubt it is coincidence that Ecclesiastes 3 was a passage I came across when reading my Bible. A not so gentle reminder from Big Poppa above that there is a time for everything. I needed to slow down and take care of me. So here’s my message to you – don’t let it creep up on you like it did me. Take care of the things that matter including yourself and there will be ample joy.

It’s been time for me to slowly pick up the pieces and put myself together. Time. Learn how to manage you within your time.

“To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born,
    And a time to die;
A time to plant,
    And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
    And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
    And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
    And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
    And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
    And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
    And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
    And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
    And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
    And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
    And a time to speak;
A time to love,
    And a time to hate;
A time of war,
    And a time of peace.”
